Michigan Hawking Club 2010 Annual Field Meet

January 20th, 2010

MHC 2010 Annual Field Meet

Each winter the Michigan Hawking Club holds it’s annual winter field meet at a local community center or outdoors club in order to promote the sport of falconry and invite the public to share in the club’s love of raptors.  This is the one event that the Michigan Hawking Club sponsors that is open to the public.  The purpose of the field meet provides a positive experience for those who wish to know more about falconry and hawking in Michigan, as well as provides the greatest source of fund raising for the club activities.

I’ll be attending the all day meet, but by all means, don’t feel obligated to stay the entire time.  Tahoe and I will most likely organize a hunting party in the afternoon and go out for a couple of hours with some other falconers and get in a good hunt with a crowd of brush-beaters!  Please feel free to join me and Tahoe in our hunting efforts!

Meet Guidelines:

1. Participate in the auction!  It’s fun & really helps the club raise the needed funds to perform the legislative tasks, helps put on these field meets, the picnics, & various other volunteer projects throughout the year.  Please bring an item(s) to auction & a pocket full of mad money!!

2. Bring a side dish to pass for lunch or dinner!  The club supplies the deli tray for lunch & the meat for dinner.  Please bring something to go along with lunch or dinner.

3.  Do not bring alcohol!  Unfortunately, the DeWitt Charter Township Community Center doesn’t have the proper licensing to allow alcohol & we don’t want to get them into trouble!

4.  Bring your family & invite your friends!

As always, we look forward to seeing everyone & happy hunting!
